Best Wine Opener and Wine Accessories

Having the best wine opener is important! I’m fairly new to the world of fine wines. But one thing I’ve learned is that you don’t want to skimp when choosing a wine opener and other wine accessories. There’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to relax with a glass of wine and ending up fighting to get the bottle open. These openers and accessories will do away with that frustration!

There is actually a surprising variety of wine openers and accessories. I’ll describe some of them below, and then you can decide what is the best option for your needs. Furthermore, you can see these different openers and accessories all in one place.

Best Wine Openers – Lots of Choices!

I’m sure we’ve all used the “waiter corkscrew” which can work well if you can get the hang of it. Honestly, I think the only reason I used to drink cheap wine with a screw-top lid was to avoid fighting with my very frustrating corkscrew! I moved on from that one to a wing corkscrew, which I found much easier to use, although I still occasionally get a broken cork. However, now I’ve found a game changer – the electric corkscrew! No more broken corks, and it’s fun to use!

These electric corkscrews are fantastic! They come in several different sizes; some are battery operated, while others are rechargeable. They’re so easy to use -just put it on, watch it pull out the cork and release it, and then you’re ready to open the next bottle. These take all the struggle out of opening a bottle of wine and make it a fun, pleasant experience instead! Keep a few on hand. If you travel a lot, you’ll want to take one with you everywhere you go. Keep one in your camper or vacation home. If you’re having a big party, you’ll want to have a couple so you can keep the wine flowing! These make great gifts too!

Aerator/Pourer: Red wines taste best if you decant them for approximately 30 minutes before serving. However, this isn’t always practical. For example, at a party, it’s difficult to keep up with the demand when every bottle has to decant for half an hour. The answer is to aerate your red wines instead. In addition, there may be times when you just don’t have time to decant the wine. For example, maybe you’re all ready to sit down to dinner, and you realize you forgot to decant the wine. No worries! Simply aerate your wine and enjoy your meal along with your red wine. Furthermore, these aerators are also pourers. This lets you pour easily from the bottle with just a touch of your finger, rather than picking up and tipping the bottle.

Wine Bottle Stopper: In the unlikely event that you don’t finish a bottle of wine, you’ll want a good wine bottle stopper. This stops up the bottle and prevents oxygen from changing the taste of the wine before you can finish it. A stopper is perfect for short-term storage (several hours, or into the next day). If you need to keep your opened wine longer than that, you’ll want to use a vacuum sealer instead.

Wine Bottle Vacuum Sealer: If you choose, for whatever reason, to drink only one glass of wine per night, the vacuum sealer is the solution you need. You can enjoy your wine, and be confident that it will taste exactly the same the next day, and every day following, until you’ve finished the bottle.
